Malahat Real Estate Market
While new development in the Malahat real estate market is rare, there is an opportunity to build a custom home on land that occasionally comes up for sale or buy an existing home when they hit the market. Most of the current homes in Malahat are custom made or modular homes, as there has not been a traditional large development of the area. Home ownership has typically been a case of home owners buying and developing the land themselves or with a local builder.
One exception however, is the new development of Elkington Forest to the west of the highway. Elkington Forest is a master planned community that builds custom homes on an as needed and purchased basis. Homes in Elkington follow a strict set of guidelines and have to be eco-friendly and fit into the surrounding environment that the community protects.
Living in Malahat Real Estate
