Deep Bay Real Estate
Deep Bay is an unincorporated waterfront community, located almost halfway between Courtenay and Nanaimo. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and fishing exploits, Deep Bay has historically been a business center, extending to various industries and home to resort-like cottages for summer vacationers. Throughout the years, Deep Bay has remained a smaller, rural community, as well as a favourite getaway destination for Vancouver Island travellers. It is also located near the beautiful Denman Island and Hornby Island, which are both recognized for their scenic parks. Deep Bay Real Estate
The entire Bowser-Deep Bay area has a population of around 2,000 people. As a small, unincorporated community, listings are relatively limited, although each home truly encompasses that desirable, coastal lifestyle. Deep Bay's real estate market is entire single-family homes and, almost equally, vacant lots and land.
When it comes to home styles, the properties in Deep Bay are cottage-like, often bungalows, and have a lot of charm. Deep Bay Drive, one of the few residential streets in Deep Bay, curls around the marina, and as a result, a number of the properties in this community are located on or close to the water. Most of the homes for sale in Deep Bay are also older, but have that distinct West Coast charm that so many are after.
Deep Bay attracts the buyers who are searching for their private, coastal dream home, or a vacation property away from the city.;
Deep Bay Lifestyle
Much like the other communities in this area, such as Bowser to the south, Deep Bay offers a laid-back lifestyle in sleepy little neighbourhoods. Deep Bay can really be divided into two main areas: the forested residences in the southern end, and the beachy neighbourhood around the marina in the north.
While Deep Bay is certainly appealing for its secluded nature, it doesn't have a lot of the amenities of a larger community, such as Qualicum Beach. There are only a few businesses in Deep Bay, which means residents may have to take a drive to pick up some necessities.
The community has an RV park and, as mentioned above, a few shops scattered around the area. The biggest attraction is the Deep Bay Marina, which has a boat launch, a fishing carter, and a restaurant: Ship and Shore Restaurant & Marine Fueling Station.
