Chemainus Condos For Sale

The community of Chemainus, most famous for its beautiful murals, is located right on the Vancouver Island coast. With a population of about 4,000 people, this area is often a stop for those traveling around the eastern side of the island, as Chemainus is found between the cities of Nanaimo and Victoria. Condos for sale in Chemainus offer a number of desirable features and are a more affordable option in comparison to other property types. These units appeal to a range of buyers—though retirees in particular love the 55+ complexes with views of the water. Chemainus Real Estate

Unlike some of the other oceanfront communities, Chemainus has a wider range of property types available on the market. Condo complexes make up a portion of the listings, and units in these mid-rise buildings are quite desirable for their locations. There are a few buildings of note in the area. Harborview House and Stuart Channel Estates are the sought-after 55+ complexes, which offer gorgeous views of the ocean and friendly neighbours. Lockwood Villa is another desirable complex, which is located further west in Chemainus, but offers privacy and the same easy access to amenities.

Explore Chemainus Condos For Sale

With over 60 beautiful murals found across the community, Chemainus has a distinct, artsy atmosphere that residents love. Its downtown area, off of Chemainus Road, features local businesses and restaurants right beside larger chains. The community has a small-town vibe, and visitors can walk from the downtown to the waterfront, browsing the antique shops and the market as they go. The bayfront area in and of itself is home to a boat ramp and the Chemainus ferry, which takes passengers to the nearby islands.

Other highlights around Chemainus include Kinsmen Beach Park, right on the beach. This green area has a playground for the kids, a boat launch, a dive site, and parking. There are other parks in and around the community, including Waterwheel Park in the downtown, Fuller Lake Park in the south end, and Echo Park on the fringes of the community. Popular outdoor activities for residents include boating (motorized and non-motorized), hiking, wildlife-watching, and camping. Chemainus also has its own performing arts theatre with local productions (though it also has an art gallery), a weekly market (and a larger event, the Chemainus Giant Street Market, which takes place during July), and a much-beloved library.
