Lake Cowichan Real Estate

The real estate market in Lake Cowichan is made up of a number of property types, though the market leans overwhelmingly towards single-family detached homes. Apartments in Lake Cowichan are not always available for sale, due to the small number of properties in the town. The premier building is Lakeview Manor—a low-rise complex found just steps away from the river and the lake, close to the downtown. This building is not to be confused with Lakewood Manor, which is a 55+ complex that is also located in Lake Cowichan. Many of the apartments are for seniors, with affordable living at the forefront.

Explore Lake Cowichan Apartments For Sale

While the apartments of Lake Cowichan might not be the flashy high-rises of the big city, they do offer a range of amenities for their residents. Lakeview Manor, despite its name, has units for sale with views of the mountains, as well as designated parking in the underground garage, and is only a few blocks (a walkable distance) from the shops along Shore Street.

Lake Cowichan's downtown area sees some significant patronage, as many pass through the town while camping or exploring this area of Vancouver Island. The town has its own library branch, municipal office, and seniors centre, all in the same area. Additionally, there are a few inns and hotels for travelers, cafes and restaurants, and stores offering outdoor-specific goods, including bait and tackle and camping equipment. On the other side of the river, there are options, including a large grocery store, pharmacy, and hardware store. Lake Cowichan is also in the process of getting a new hospital.
