This part of Lantzville sits on the south side, with forested hills that rise up from the water. There's a more rural atmosphere to Upper Lantzville, but it maintains the same quiet and relaxed lifestyle of the lower half. What draws many to this town is the complementary blend of both its tranquil atmosphere and easy access to Nanaimo's many jobs, amenities, and services. Forest Meets Ocean

Upper Lantzville Real Estate

Because of its location and small commercial district, real estate in Lantzville, BC is comprised of primarily single-family homes. These houses sit at a higher elevation than those in Lower Lantzville, which means residents can experience sprawling ocean and forest views from their front door. The wooded lots offer privacy, and most properties are tucked away from the main roads. In fact, there is hardly any traffic in the area at all, as visitors are more likely to visit Lower Lantzville for the beautiful beach parks.

Homes for sale in Upper Lantzville are good mixture of gorgeous older homes and new, contemporary builds, with large lots and luxury upgrades being a common feature. If a waterfront Lantzville home is what you're searching for, check out our blog post with helpful tips first!

Top Upper Lantzville Highlights & Attractions

As is typical of the region, the history of Lantzville is tied to the mining industry. When Grant's Mine was purchased by an American company, the small town adopted the name of one of its board members, Fraser Lantz. In comparison to Lower Lantzville, Upper Lantzville has more of a rural atmosphere. Located south of the Island Highway, the residential streets of this area wind up the Lantzville hills. Although located away from the coast, there are still a multitude of activities to enjoy—and the waterfront is only ever a few minutes from where you are.

Upper Lantzville is where you’ll find the area’s public golf course, Winchelsea View Golf Course—with 18 holes, a clubhouse, a snackbar, beautiful views, and so much more! There is also a local art gallery and various local businesses located in this neighbourhood.

Nature-lovers should take advantage of the parks and hiking trails in Lantzville. Arbutus Grove Provincial Park, Copley Ridge Recreation Area, and Lonetree Hill are some of the popular destinations.
